Bench Cushions

Bench Cushions - A Type of Outdoor Chair Cushion

Bench cushions are a type of indoors and outdoors cushions designed and sized to fit benches. These have the same purpose as chair pads and office chair cushion, except that they are in long rectangular shapes to conform to the seat design. These can be used in homes, although they are more commonly used outdoors to provide a soft seating for benches in the patio or the garden. Indoors, on the other hand, they can be used for long sofas, angular seats, decorative wooden furniture, window seats, and so on.

Why use indoor and outdoor bench cushions?

Bench cushions are unique in being able to provide cushioning for many people at once, and its function cannot be easily replicated by simply lining up a bunch of single cushions in a row; this will make the furniture look disorganized and difficult to maintain as the cushions will move around during use. The exception is the stadium seat cushions that are for single person use.

The benefits of indoor bench cushions

Benches aren't the most comfortable chairs around. Most are made of wood although there are some wrought iron outdoor ones as well. The majority, however, are made of hard materials, and some also do away with the back part against where you lean your back. Thus, all your weight rests on the seat which in most cases do not come with any cushioning whatsoever. Bench cushions can take care of this problem. They can add extra comfort and ease prolonged sitting on any seat in your home, whether outdoor or indoor.

Seats many people outdoors

In some ways an outdoor patio seat supplemented with patio chair cushions can substitute for benches with bench cushions, but the substitution is incomplete as the bench can easily and quickly accommodate large numbers of people. Cushions are easily carried around or moved, and can be used for different purposes. Consider getting Sunbrella cushions for their robustness to harsh outdoor elements. Indoors, benches can also be used for living rooms for a variant known as a window seat. In this case the cushions used are called window seat cushions. Such cushions provide an way to make seats comfortable and conducive for long periods of sitting.

Adorning the simple bench

Also, since a lot of benches are simple in appearance, the addition of a cushion boosts the physical appeal. These products come in different types and different covers. Some are covered with fabrics of varying colors and designs, while some are covered with leather or vinyl for durability and resistance to regular wear and tear. If you are looking for a bench cushion you will be using outdoors, get a foam one with polyester cover. High density foams also tend to be more ideal if you plan on using your cushion for a long time.

Sofa bench

The use of these pads can also turn your sofa into a sofa bench, which means that they have additional padding. Benches are also easier to maintain than couches, and with some cushions and pillow, your seat makes a pretty good furniture center piece for your living room. The makeshift couch isn't even costly. For people who have bought replacement sofa cushions, use your same judgment to pick the right fill for the bench cushion.
